VP of Philanthropy
Hometown: Cumming, GA
Major: Communication Disorders
Why did you decide to run for VP of Philanthropy?
I ran for the position because of the need I saw to bring more light to Domestic Violence. After serving as the Assistant Philanthropy Chair last year I knew I wanted to take on the full position this year and find more ways to start the conversation of Domestic Violence or any form of power-based violence on Auburn’s campus.
What is your favorite Philanthropy event we do?
These Hands “Donut” Hurt!
What has been your most favorite thing about this job?
Getting to hear from students and sorority members outside of Alpha Chi and how our efforts are having a real world impact on the campus. This past month we handed out baggies of chocolate containing facts about Healthy Relationships and what they should look like. I heard from many students how this simple act started a conversation in their class or with their friends and it made me feel like our Chapter was having a big impact in a little way.
If you could travel anywhere where would it be?
What do you like to do for fun?
Pile in the car with all my friends and go somewhere for food (preferably Island Wing Company or Sonic!
"Lauren is so real and dedicated to giving her best at anything she commits herself to." -Macy Morgan

What is one of your favorite memories from Alpha Chi?
There are too many favorite memories from Alpha Chi to count! I guess if I had to say though I would say living on the hall! So many late night deep talks, halo top, spontaneous dance parties, screaming about boys, sharing ALL the food, scary nights cuddling till 3 in the morning because we couldn't stop watching Stranger Things, eightball missing, calendar making, interview preparing, Christmas decorating, make up obsessing, La Croix drinking, Jesus talking, and finding the best friendships of my life!Thank you Sarah Louis, Ella, and Miranda for being the greatest friends/roomies/sisters #somlomsomc #ssgwahftl.
What is something that you are passionate about?
I have a huge passion for art! Whether it's painting, dancing, or singing, I love it! Math somehow sneaks in there though haha!
We hear you're a pretty good singer! What is your favorite song?
That's such a tough question, but I love Hillsong Worship! Broken Vessels always has me singing my heart out!
If you could marry anyone from a movie/tv show, who would it be?
Jim Halpert, sweet boy gotta love him.
What is something every Auburn student needs to see/do?
Everyone needs to eat lunch on Samford with friends at least once. It's cheesy and simple, but nothing beats Auburn weather, stunning views, and the best friendships you can't find anywhere else in the world!
What is your favorite thing about recruitment?
I love meeting all of the potential new members! Having the opportunity to share passions and loves with others is such a joy! Plus, when we have breaks sometimes Alpha Chi puts on music and there's a dance party. I think everyone's lack of sleep from the week truly shows in those moments haha!
"Mary Grace is one of the most genuine, loving, and kind-hearted person I have ever met. She loves everyone so incredibly well and radiates Jesus in all she does. She is an incredible listener and encourager, making every situation feel better and more sane. She does all of this with having the best sense of humor! MaryGrace is definitely the kind of friend that everyone needs in their life and someone the world needs more of! She's one of a kind and someone who inspires me daily!" -Miranda Garner
Why did you decide to come to Auburn?
I have always known that I wanted to come to Auburn. My parents both went to school here, so I grew up an Auburn fan. I could see myself here super easily. Simply being in Auburn made me feel at home because it's such a homey place.
What drew you to Alpha Chi?
I liked Alpha Chi a lot because it was easy to tell that all the girls were extremely genuine people. I have found some of the funniest coolest people ever through Alpha Chi. They are very encouraging and show me the love of Jesus like no other.
What is Chalk Thursday?
Chalk Thursday is a new thing that has started. One Wednesday night I was telling Chandler Cahoon that I had some chalk in my room that I got from big/little gifts. So we decided that that next morning we would chalk. Thus became Chalk Thursday!!! The first week it rained I think 3 times and it didn't go away. I got kinda nervous because I thought people would get mad that we "vandalized" the path, but it was fine. It looked good and it made people smile. It's my new favorite day of the week and everyone should come!
What are you involved in at Auburn?
I go to First Baptist Church of Opelika. That is where I have found the biggest source of community. It is filled such awesome people that encourage me and help me grow in my relationship with the Lord. I'm not really involved in anything else. I signed up to be in the pizza club because I thought that would be funny, but I never paid my dues so I don't think I'm actually in it. But I still get the emails so I could if I wanted to.
What has been the most surprising thing about freshman year?
One of the biggest things I have learned coming to college is how sweet and essential community is. You need people that can keep you accountable and can consistently encourage you. But another thing I have learned is that you also need time by yourself. It's easy to think that you need to be around people all the time but sometimes alone time is necessary.
What is your favorite movie and why?
I don't really have a favorite movie. I like lots of movies. I'm a big fan of disney movies. Those are pretty great.
